Get a copy of all three credit bureaus and compare what is on each of them. Some creditors may enter only one of the bureaus if another creditor may report to another office altogether. Therefore, it is important that you get copies from all three credit reporting agencies.

Once you have your credit reports before you look closely about them. Look carefully for any errors that may be on them, such as accounts, which have not even yours or accounts that are not considered paid, although they are paid in full. If you make a mistake to write to the credit bureau, and write a letter to the creditor as well. Include copies of any documents you may have, such as receipts or statements, which reflect a different balance. Do not send the originals but copies, and send it with your letter.

Also look on the accounts that are correctly reported as delinquent, and see if it is one that you pay. Try to pay the first newer than the older ones can fall off your credit report when the credit reporting has elapsed, usually seven years. If it accounts that you can not pay, try to negotiate with your creditors to see if they accept a lower amount. Although this can be reported on your credit report, you can also pay a transaction to full status. This is where you actually pay less than the full amount, but the lender is obliged to mark the account paid in full, and they also agree to report it as such.

By looking at your credit report on a regular basis, you can ensure that incorrect information is kept out of the report.
