For a number of years, Dave Ramsey was on local radio in the early evening. Every night, after a full day with the bankruptcy customers and clients collection work through the financial mess in the mid to late 90s was just like the shape, I heard him carefully. I enjoyed every minute of it and found myself in agreement with him most of the time. He has an incredible story, and he had the credibility that have been through hard times themselves.
Over the years I've read and learned about his methods, his website. He suggests paying off bills systematically, making the use of credit at all, applying financial discipline, over time, restore solvency and even make savings.
While I had my clients with 90% of what he says, generally agreed in such a bad state that it requires more than discipline. They needed a dramatic reversal of the pattern, they hold the money hostage. Who was ever broken, knows that "no money" means "no money". If this statement means nothing to you, then you should read Dave Ramsey's methods.
If it makes sense, then you have to understand. You can not do anything with the budget. You can not negotiate with a wall. You can not ask for items from a brick. Financial problems are legal problems. The difference between me and Dave Ramsey is a law degree. I was trained that if you are getting screwed, you start a fight, and take this fight to court.
